I like the idea of offsetting the layers from one another; I think it'd give the impression of depth, and make the piece more interesting to look at from other angles. I think I'd prefer the image to be negative over positive though, I find it more interesting to look at that way, although if you did something to alter the colors in the positive it may work, just as long as it doesn't look like a straight photo. Offsetting the layers may help with that though, so Id just try out a few different variants and see what works best visually. Excited to see how the turns out no matter what you do with it, the idea is really cool and I feel like the execution could make this an awesome piece.
