I am bringing in my last project over to the final project. I wanted to pursue this farther and produce light box to be able to put these layer with in it to make my full image. I been thinking about making the photo positive and wanting see how y'all feel about this idea.  Also thought shifting the photo so they are offset from the others layer. So that give the feeling trying to get out of the box and being stuck in it.

  1. I think shifting the image would be really interesting and it would separate itself from the other pieces that have a similar look! Just be careful not to lose your overall image!

  2. I really like your project, the concept is super cool and I really like where you're going with it. I especially liked the idea you had of moving the photos around slightly to show movement, I think that would be really successful.

  3. I'm so excited to see this piece when you finish! It's going to be so unique. I really like the idea of shifting the images slightly, I think that would add a lot to your overall work

  5. I love this concept, and the fact that you are taking this assignment out of the 2-D realm into 3-D.
I really like the image being in the negative, I think that it is much more striking that way. Feel free to experiment with it though, you never know what will happen. I would be interested to see the picture you were talking about where you flipped the colors on your phone, if possible.
So excited to see the finished project.

  7. I'm so excited to see this continued!! Your piece is so unique and you're definitely taking it to the next level. Your transparent idea is probably my favorite that I've seen all semester from the whole class.

  8. I would stay with the negative. It gives a much more ghostly and painful look to it. It is also somewhat uncomfortable to look at, as our brains are not use to see humanoid figures in those colors. All in all, I think the negative works much better for your concept.

I would move the layers, maybe only a percentage of them, around. Take 20% or 30% of the layers and move them fracture of an inch in different direction. If you move too many, or too much the picture will start becoming blurry and make your brain hurt (The brain will try to comprehend the whole piece as a single figure and create somewhat double vision). It might be something worth experimenting with.

  9. I love the negative idea that you presented last class. My only concern is the logistics of the piece. As a sculpture major I know that building these types of things can become overwhelming easily. Keep the logistics as simple as possible due to time constraints because sometimes unexpected results happen to make the only option starting over. Other than that I believe everything else about this project is strong.

  10. I was really impressed by the ambition you had for this project. I don't have much to say besides that I'm really excited to see the finished piece. The overall concept is also interesting and well thought out. I think you accurately evoked the feeling of being trapped in a situation.
